Tod V. Beebe is an experienced trial lawyer whose practice focuses on the representation of financial institutions and the representation of business entities and individuals in complex business disputes, including the representation of our clients’ interests in equity-holder disputes, real estate matters and post-merger indemnity claims.
If there is one underappreciated skill that Tod tries to emphasize it is empathy – both to understand the posture and needs of the client and to understand how all aspects of the case will be perceived by the trier of fact. He has tried cases in state and federal court as well as before many different arbitration panels and has argued appeals in both state and federal court. Particular areas of emphasis include bank operations, real estate, bankruptcy, tax litigation, securities litigation, unfair competition and business tort litigation.
Tod came to the firm in 1981 directly from the Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley. Tod was elected Managing Partner of the firm more than 20 years ago and continues in that role today. He is a proud undergraduate of the University of Southern California (Economics 1978). He is a member of the Bank Operations Counsel Association and a past member of the California State Bar Association, Business Law Section, Committee on Financial Institutions. Tod has been a public speaker on such diverse topics as advising attorneys on prevention of professional liability claims and potential litigation with regard to internet banking.
